Guests create their very own Kokedama Japanese hanging garden.
The Japanese word Kokedama literally means “moss ball” and is a ball of soil, covered with moss, in which an ornamental plant grows. This ancient Japanese art from is still very popular in Japanese gardens today, as well as being the newest botanical craze to sweep the planet!
After a demonstration on traditional planting and wrapping techniques, guests get their hands dirty! Our experts will be on hand to advise on how to prepare the soil and apply the moss and guests can choose from a selection of exotic plants.
Kokedama can either be displayed on an ornamental plate or hung up for added kokedama drama! We’ll teach guests how to make a macrame string cradle to sit their kokedama in and guest will make 3 different kokedama so they can try out different plants, techniques and display options.
At the end of the activity, guests take their creations home or back to the office to bring a bit of nature indoors.
