PLC Awards at Grosvenor House Hotel, Great Room for Ford Sinclair
FullCircle has built a strong working relationship with Ford Sinclair Events, providing production solutions for many of their events over the last 8 years. The PLC Awards 2018 is one such example.
The PLC Awards Dinner is the city event of the year, established in 1987 it has been held annually at The Grosvenor House Hotel, making it to its 32nd consecutive year in March 2019.
The awards recognise the success and achievements amongst publicly quoted companies in the UK, and was attended by CEO’s, FD’s, investment bankers, fund managers, analysts and corporate advisors. It is one of the top 5 events held at the Grosvenor House every year.
The PLC Awards 2018 was to celebrate the achievements of the previous year to a brief that demanded a flawless, professional and ultra-slick production.
Our Design team produced a series of different stage and set designs to choose from, with our Production team generating the AV solution. A collaborative effort to making a functional and creative new design with a bespoke stage and screen width all to budget.
Our solution was to build a suspended 10m x 2.5m hi res 3mm LED screen with angled stage. Using coloured carpeting and fascia to tie in with the branding. The screen was hung from the venue rigging in front of our wall of black drape and framed either side by floor standing graphic logos, each 2.5m wide x 2.4m high.
We extended the screen content to cover the lectern’s LED screen providing a constant sponsors presence and awards category titles. All content was run from MacBook Pros using Keynote and Playback Pro to custom aspect ratios for the main screen and 16:9 for the lectern. A Keynote template was used to ensure that content allowed operators to add in live PIP camera relay when required. The Barco S3 switcher and EC20 Controller allowed for content manipulation. For user support we provided a twin glass Autocue and 50” comfort monitor.
The Venue has an in-house lighting and audio rig, so we added our control equipment to interface with their system and included additional Sennheiser microphones and comms.
Our 20+ crew including Production Managers, Video, Lighting and Audio Technicians, Carpenters, Local Crew, Artist Liaison and Show Caller oversaw the entire build, show and derig spread over 3 days. The venue comes with its own restrictions on working hours, which had us loading in the day prior to the event and loading out the following morning.
